Dear Reader, It the holiday season and I know how much you love this time of year! All the lights, decorations, get togethers with friends and family and so many festivities! I've also been thinking about how much you do for everyone especially during this time of year, and it struck me how often you put your own needs aside to help others. Your kindness is truly a gift, but it's also important to remember that you deserve care and attention just as much as anyone else. Please, take a moment before you say 'yes' to another request this holiday season to ask yourself a few important questions:
If any hesitation arises from these questions, it's more than okay to choose yourself and politely decline. It's not selfish to honor your own boundaries; it's a way of showing yourself the love and respect you so freely give to others. Enjoy the magic of that this season has to offer, take the moments to pause, close your eyes and breathe in all the beauty around you... You've always been there for everyone, sometimes even at the cost of your own well-being. But your needs are important, too. It's okay to listen to what you need and say 'no' when you have to. Taking care of yourself isn't neglecting others—it's ensuring you're at your best during this busy time of year so you can give the quality of care and love you're known for, without feeling overwhelmed and depleted come January. With all my love and support, Dena |

Hey Reader, I have so been enjoying the cool crisp fall air and vibrant colors of leaves changing. Fall is a season of change and invites us to grow and nurture personal change amongst the changing of the leaves. This time of year also gets me excited for sweaters, pumpkins, apples and comfort food. I love being in the kitchen cooking and inhaling the aroma of warm spices. While the next few months will be busy with celebrations and festivities, the colder season is also an invitation to slow...
Hello Reader, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday celebrating with loved ones. Just in saying that, I am reminded of how hard the holiday season can be when there has been hurt and pain caused by the very people we are celebrating the holidays with. After having just spend Thanksgiving with my mother, I find myself reflecting on the complex tapestry of emotions these interactions can bring up—especially for those of us with challenging childhood experiences. It's a season that...
